Ferroalloys
Wholesale supplies on domestic and foreign markets of ferroalloys for metallurgical industry, as well as ferro-powder for mining industry. Ferroalloys with manganese, silicon, chromium, nickel and other metals. Concentrates of rare earth metals.
Types of ferroalloys and rare earth metals
B&D offers wholesale supplies of various ferroalloys, the main ones being: ferrosilicon (FeSi15), ferrochrome (FeCr), ferromanganese (FeMn), ferrosilicon manganese (FeSiMn), ferronickel (FeNi) and other popular alloys.
These products are supplied in the form of pieces or powder, packed in big bags and shipped by all types of transport.
Ferroalloys, including ferromanganese, ferrosilicon, ferrochrome and ferronickel, are used in various industrial fields:
Ferromanganese gives the metal increased tensile strength and increases wear resistance. It is also used to replace expensive nickel in the smelting of stainless steel.
Ferrosilicon (an alloy of iron and silicon) is used in the production of spring, electrical, and heat-resistant steel. It increases the strength and hardness and reduces the ductility of steel.
Ferrochrome is used to increase the strength characteristics and fluidity of steel.
Ferronickel (an alloy of iron and nickel) is used to alloy steel and alloys.
Some leading ferroalloy consuming countries:
China. In 2022, it accounted for 38% of global ferroalloy imports ($20 billion).
USA. In the same year, this country accounted for 9.83% of global imports ($5.25 billion).
Japan. In 2022, it accounted for 7.1% of global imports ($3.79 billion).
Indonesia. In 2022, it accounted for 5.86% of global imports ($3.12 billion).
Germany. In 2022, it accounted for 4.87% of global imports ($2.6 billion).
Also, the main consumers of ferroalloys in the Russian Federation are large metallurgical plants: Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works (NLMK), EVRAZ, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), Severstal, Metalloinvest and Mechel.
